3. Vampires Suck - Becca Crane

A lot of the madcap charm was gone from their humour and it tended to drag a little bit. Funnily enough, their critics rejoiced at seeing them go more low key, and normal. I for one hope it doesn't stick and pray their upcoming film The Starving Games will see them return to their off kilter mad cap glory. Still, Vampires Suck is not without its big laughs and upon release the film drew raves for the performance of one of its stars. Young Jenn Proske was given the bitter-sweet task of playing Becca Crane, which was essentially a parody of the Bella Swan character played by Kristen Stewart in the Twilight franchise. Jenn Proske could have just phoned in her performance; hate for Twilight is strong enough that even the laziest bit of mocking or parody is eagerly welcomed with open arms. Just look at how celebrated the average Twilight parody is on YouTube; dozens of young women have drawn raves by acting like a cold, reserved, wooden, morose, pale teenager which is essentially the essence of Bella Swan character. Jenn Proske however took it one step further by completely channelling Stewart's portrayal of Bella Swan. Remember how Jamie Foxx portrayed Ray Charles? Jamie was celebrated for how he nailed Ray Charles' personality down even to the smallest facial tick. That is what Proske achieved with Becca Crane. It was a brilliant and hilarious performance by a young comedic actress.
