10 Future Cult Classic Movies You Need To See

Ever since the first trailers for Oscar-winning director Toby Hooper’s Cats landed online, many couldn’t get over just how strange and freakish it looked thanks to the uncanny CGI felines the cast were transformed into. And to the surprise of absolutely nobody, this Andrew Lloyd Webber musical adaptation was heavily panned by critics around the world, with The Hollywood Reporter claiming it was “unfathomable” that this film made it so far through production.

The musical the film is based on was already bonkers enough, but somehow seeing a feline Rebel Wilson eat mice with the faces of children managed to outweird anything we could have possibly imagined. Throw in the sheer jellicle ludicrousness of the plot and the amount of big name stars who thought appearing in this film was a good idea and it’s easy to see why Cats is arguably the next Rocky Horror Picture Show.

There have already been sing-along screenings where audiences dress like cats and drink milk-based cocktails. And if that's not enough, there’s also reportedly a “butt hole” version of the film out there – and that sounds just as fascinating as it is frightening.
