10 Future Stars Who Appeared In Star Trek
7. Tom Hardy
The story is well known at this point. Tom Hardy played the role of Shinzon in 2002's Star Trek: Nemesis. Despite the film's many, many flaws, there is little doubt that Hardy brings his a-game to the piece. While the brief of 'play an angry, young Patrick Stewart' isn't the easiest one to follow, he did the best that he could with the material given to him.
The film was a critical and commercial failure, which led Hardy to relapse into substance abuse and resulted in a stay at a rehabilitation centre. Thankfully, he was able to overcome these challenges.
From there, he went on to appear in The Dark Knight Rises, Inception, Locke, and of course the Venom series. While today there is little doubt as to his star power, there was a time in the early 2000s when Star Trek almost spelled certain doom for this poor man. He's thankfully found success both in the cinema and on the small screen, with his roles in Peaky Blinders and Tabboo impressing critics as well.
This truly seems to be a case of a challenging journey with a happy ending - and we couldn't be happier for him.
