6. The "Dystopian Future" Movie

While
Blade Runner is usually the end-all for most movie geeks in this sub-genre, there's still a whole lot the premise of a dilapidated future society can add to a story. And though there hasn't really been a comparable movie since Ridley Scott's defining 1982 work, I'm sure Tarantino could change all that. For a lover of movies, he's stayed fairly away from most heavy genre fare (this statement will be amended later in the list) and maybe he's not interested in science fiction or just hasn't found the right story to interest him. The idea of a Quentin Tarantino's vision of humanity's future is too staggeringly oblique to hypothesize about. What about society would he have to say in a future setting? Does he have a cautionary tale we should know about? Or would he just have fun placing classic rock songs over images of cyberpunks on hoverbikes blowing old grannies' heads off with phasers? Either way, we as audience viewers win.
