10 Glaring Goofs That Will Ruin 2015's Best Films For You

3. Philly Cheese Steaks, Pathmark And Goodison Park - Creed

Creed turned out to be one of, if not the best instalment in the Rocky series, dragging the boxing franchise back to its feet after it seemed well and truly out for the count. It is the first Rocky film to be neither written nor directed by Sylvester Stallone, who is relegated to the Burgess Meredith role €“ applying Vaseline to bloody eyebrows and chipping in with some obligatory been-there-done-that wisdom from time to time. His sympathetic performance compliments that of new star of the show Michael B Jordan, who helms this gritty sports drama with confidence. Neither actor can be blamed for Creed€™s shortcomings, things like Adonis (Jordan) paying for two Philly Cheese Steaks worth $5.95 apiece with a $20 note and getting $10 in change, for example. I€™ve never been to Philadelphia, but I€™m pretty sure the waitresses don€™t tip the customers there. Most of the mistakes should have been spotted before shooting began, such as there being a Pathmark supermarket opposite an LA gym when Pathmark was a chain exclusive to the North East. Also, when British champion €œPretty€ Ricky Conlan enters the ring to face Adonis, the announcer says that 100,000 people have gotten to their feet, though it looks like far less, and that€™s because it is. The fight was filmed in Goodison Park, Liverpool, which has a capacity of less than 40,000. Guess they didn€™t have the budget to give old Goodison the Gladiator coliseum treatment.

Phil still hasn't got round to writing a profile yet, as he has an unhealthy amount of box sets on the go.
