10 Great Cliffhangers That Left You Gagging For The Next Movie

4. X-Men: Days Of Future Past

After a fantastic start to the cinematic life of the X-Men, things took a drastic turn for the worse with X-Men: The Last Stand when Brett Ratner took over the directorial helm (with his poor track record who didn't see that coming?). Fortunately for the latest outing, X-Men: Days Of Future Past, Brian Singer did worldwide audiences a favour and made a welcome return. Erasing some plot elements from the previous catastrophe is just one of the great things achieved in Days Of Future Past - in a good year for comic book movie adaptations, Singer also brought the franchise back up to a high standards fans now expect. It's perhaps the most fast-paced of all the X-Men movies with a dramatic time-traveling plot which makes the most out of a strong cast. It also features an ending which has had fans looking forward to the next installment ever since it hit cinemas this summer, where Stryker takes custody of Wolverine and, in a brief final shot, his eyes flash yellow indicating that it is in fact Mystique taking on Stryker's form. Is she saving Logan from the experimental program? Or is something else at play? Hopefully some answers to these questions will be given in 2016 when X-Men: Apocalypse is released.
