4. Darkseid

Darkseid is an immensely intelligent and powerful being who sees himself as rightful ruler over the entire universe. He is the supreme monarch of the technologically advanced planet Apokolips where his people consider him to be God. He killed his own brother to claim the throne of Apokolips. He halved the Amazon population in a quest to kill the Olympian gods who he saw as a threat. He even obtained the power to eliminate free will in the universe by unravelling the Anti-Life Equation which gave him control over all thoughts and emotions of living beings. In addition to the Anti-Life Equation, Darkseid controls the Omega Beam. The Omega Beam is an energy beam that he fires from his eyes with pinpoint accuracy that can be used as a concussive force or to disintegrate or even to resurrect living objects. He is immortal and has the powers of telepathy, telekinesis, super speed and strength, flight, shape-shifting, and teleportation of himself or others through time and space. He can also possess other living beings and manipulate them to follow the evil within their own hearts. Even though he has great physical powers, he prefers to use his intellect to control situations and people for his ends. Darkseid is such a great villain that Marvel decided to make their own version of him in Thanos. This is a fact that Marvel openly admit. Likelihood of appearing It has been rumoured that Darkseid will be the main villain in the Justice League film. While Darkseid is a fantastic villain, Marvel have cleverly gotten in first by having Thanos appear as a cameo at the end of The Avengers. Although Darkseid inspired the creation of Thanos, the average movie goer will not know that and will see Darkseid as a rip-off of Thanos rather than the other way around. It is unclear whether WB/DC will be willing to take the risk and use Darkseid anyway.
