10 Great Films From 2015 You'll Never Watch Again (And Why)

9. Crimson Peak

Guillermo Del Toro€™s gothic horror movie has all the trimmings people have come to expect from the director; rich production design, ghosts, things preserved in jars and a sewer. The film is a creepy and violent ride through the director€™s imagination, and it features great performances by Jessica Chastain and Tom Hiddleston. Why You€™ll Never Watch It Again: For all the beautiful visuals and fine performances, it lacks the heart that makes Del Toro€™s best stuff work. Movies like Pan€™s Labyrinth and even Hellboy have the emotion to back up the production design, but Crimson Peak just doesn€™t. It€™s all surface sheen that relies on the actors to bring some life to their characters, as the stilted dialogue certainly doesn€™t help. A couple of plot twists towards the end are so obvious they can€™t even be called €œtwists€, which leaves Crimson Peak as a horror movie that€™s high on pretty looks but a little low on intelligence.

Handsome. Charismatic. Intelligent. Noble. Witty. I'm none of these things, but I'm a half decent writer, I guess.
