Let's lighten the mood now with a good ol' fashion horror comedy.

Deadstream is a proper indie film. The writer and director are husband and wife who also produced the picture, whilst the husband is also its star. Now that's getting back to basics.

Joseph Winter (husband of Vanessa) is Shawn, a disgraced YouTuber looking to restore his past glory. Rather than hopping on TikTok or starting an OnlyFans, Shawn decides to spend the night in a haunted house to create content for his channel.

What could possibly go wrong...

Naturally, the house is actually haunted. Shawn now not only has to contend with his own comments section, but the threat of supernatural peril as well.

Honestly, not sure which one's worse.

A found footage movie, Deadstream breathes new life into a format that many thought had long since been played out. The interactive element of Shawn's live chat adds a different dimension to the film without breaking the budget and sets it out from all of its competitors.

Whilst it's far from a technical masterpiece, Deadstream is a bit of silly, spooky fun. And who are we to argue against that?
