6. A Star Is Born (2018) - Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga was a global icon long before being cast in Amercian Horror Story's fifth season, Hotel, but her turn as the complicated vampiric Countess was truly unforgettable.
Many were skeptical about Gaga's acting ability, but she swung for the fences as the glamorous, bloodthirsty tyrant, and it marked the start of a whole new facet to the entertainer's career.
She went on to nab a starring role in the 2018 remake of A Star Is Born alongside Bradley Cooper, enabling her to seamlessly blend her two biggest talents and showcase her acting in a dramatic musical production.
The film marked Bradley Cooper's directorial debut, and (if you somehow hadn't heard about it) achieved numerous accolades. It was nominated for eight Academy Awards (and won Best Original Song) and five Golden Globes, and Gaga herself was nominated for a Best Actress Oscar for her role as Ally Maine.
While A Star Is Born can't be given any credit for originality, both Cooper and Gaga delivered outstanding performances in one of 2018's biggest movies, definitely proving that Gaga really can do it all.
