10 Great Movies Starring The Cast Of Dexter

4. Nashville - Keith Carradine (Frank Lundy)

Dragged Across Concrete
Paramount Pictures

Season 2 of Dexter begins with the titular character's murders become public knowledge, encouraging FBI Special Agent, Frank Lundy, to travel to Miami and track the killer. Since Lundy has a knack for uncovering evidence that even the high-ranking agents miss, Dexter Morgan fears that he's finally met his match.

Keith Carradine is so compelling as the the FBI agent, it's surreal to see him singing and strumming a guitar in Robert Altman's Nashville. In the 1975 film, Carradine plays a band member of a rock trio called Tom Frank. Wanting to reinvent himself, Frank tries to break away from the group and become a solo musician... and score a ton of drugs.

As is standard with Altman's work, Nashville boasts a vast, eclectic cast including Jeff Goldblum, Ned Beatty, Scott Glenn, and Shelley Duvall. Even though each actor is phenomenal, no single element stands out since every aspect, from the production design to the music sequences, is astounding.

If you miss the late Robert Altman's naturalistic and direction style, Nashville is worth revisiting since it's among the renowned filmmaker's best work.
