5. Gossip Girl (2007 - 2012) - Penn Badgley

Gossip Girl centred on the lives of New York's young elite who resided on the Upper East Side yet despite their wealth and riches, life wasn't plain sailing thanks to the eponymous blog site Gossip Girl. The site kept constant tabs on the Upper East Siders, outing their best kept secrets.
We'll keep spoilers to a minimum but Penn's character Dan remained very close to the heart of the drama throughout the show's six seasons. Unlike most characters, Dan wasn't in fact rich but ended up dating it-girl Serena Van Der Woodsen (played by Blake Lively).
