10 Greatest Acting Performances In Comic Book Movies

3. Hugh Jackman - Wolverine

It was a little rough trying to initially pitch something like X-Men to a major production company. Even in an era that had the ascent of Spider-Man to the big leagues, the idea of having an entire team of superheroes that you have to identify with in one movie was going to be a pretty tough sell. Then again, when you have someone like Hugh Jackman front-and-centre, it's no wonder the series sold like gangbusters.

Compared to the other actors on this list, Jackman is one of the few who has put more miles on a character than anyone else. From his first iteration as Logan in 2000's X-Men, Jackman already looked the part to a tee, having the same type of grizzly attitude that would become commonplace later down the road. Even in the more rudimentary scenes, Jackman never really phoned it in, bringing some real muscle behind Logan's "could-give-a-sh*t" attitude.

Even when playing the battered and broken version of him in 2017's Logan, Jackman was still the same type of man you'd come to expect, as he portrayed a lived-in character who knows that he has to come to terms with some of the mistakes he's made in his life. Regardless of the more stupid turns the X:Men franchise has taken over the years, Hugh Jackman is pretty much the one thing you can count on for being consistently badass.
