10 Greatest Ever Tom Cruise Running Scenes
8. Far And Away
Not the most well-remembered movie of his career by any stretch of the imagination, Far and Away was nonetheless a decent-sized hit when it was released in 1992, the combination of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman's star power and the reliable Ron Howard behind the camera propelling it to a box office total of $137.8m.
Unfortunately, Far and Away wasn't particularly fondly received by critics, and these days the most memorable thing about it seems to be Cruise's painful attempt at an Irish accent, and with good reason; it is a shocker.
However, the movie does provide several cracking examples of the various forms of Tom Cruise Running, gaining a new appreciation from fans in these self-aware times we live in. Leaving the love of his life behind in Boston, Cruise reacts the only way he knows how; by running as fast as he possibly can.
Starting at a brisk walk, Cruise frantically increases the pace until he is literally sprinting his emotions out. Certainly a unique way of dealing with a broken heart but hey, each to their own.
