1. Infinity War
After dozens of our heroes fought tooth and nail to stop the almighty titan Thanos from wiping out half of the universe, the inevitable destruction became the Snap heard around the world. Even with the stellar final shot, you knew that Marvel wasn't going to leave us on something that morbid though.
As we get over Thanos channeling his inner Shrek at his garden refuge, we cut back to find Nick Fury and Maria Hill during the time when the Snap took place. Going through a busy city street, we see everything start to set in, with planes falling from the sky and Maria Hill turning to dust before she even has time to understand what's happening.
Then again, we always know that Fury has some sort of backup plan at the ready for times like these. Just before he turns to dust, we see Fury fooling around with a pager before uttering one last "Motherfu...." before fading away.
As we zoom in, we see the logo for Captain Marvel appear, giving us a shred of hope that maybe things will turn out for the better in the next film. For a movie that was all about the destruction of all of the heroes' futures, this was the possibility of a happy ending after all the dust had settled.
