6. Thanos Comes To The Fore - Thor: Ragnarok
The third solo Thor movie breathed some much-needed fresh life into the character and the Norse mythology. Directed by Taika Waititi, Thor: Ragnarok delivered a perfect blend of humour, explosive action, and heartbreak. Nowhere was that blend more poignant and present than in the movie’s final scene following the destruction of Asgard.
Aboard a spaceship that’s evacuating the citizens of the fallen Asgard, Thor – the new King of Asgard - leads his people on a journey to Earth in search of a new place to call home. Unfortunately, they don’t get far before their ship is intercepted by Thanos and his Black Order, which will ultimately see the death of Loki.
As Thor and Loki discuss the merits of bringing the God of Mischief back to Earth following the 2012 attack on New York, the Asgardians' ship is suddenly dwarfed by Sanctuary II – the massive warship used by Thanos on his quest to half the population of all life in the universe.
