10 Greatest Sequels Of All Time

6. The Bourne Ultimatum

The Bourne Ultimatum It's very rare for a trilogy to get better movie after movie, but that's exactly what the Matt Damon starring Bourne Trilogy is. Paul Greengrass came on board for the second instalment and injected the series with frenzied action and a darker style. Greengrass discarded the fairly harmless tone of the original in favour of intensity and relentless aggression. The Bourne Ultimatum features some of the finest action sequences of all time. From the incredibly tense opening at Waterloo Station to the frenetic fight in Tangier with Desh, The Bourne Ultimatum is an unstoppable thrill ride with audacity in abundance. Without The Bourne Ultimatum and its predecessors, James Bond would never have been reinvented the way he was, which is obviously a good thing as Casino Royale and Skyfall were two of the best action movies of recent years. Greengrass' background in documentary making means he gives the film an authentic feel and his use of the handheld camera is second to nobody. The Bourne Ultimatum is pure unadulterated, exhilarating mayhem and one of the most purely fun and entertaining movies of recent years.
