10 Harry Potter Fan Theories Confirmed By JK Rowling

2. Teddy Lupin Is The Next Generation's Harry Potter

Does everything have to come full circle in the Harry Potter series? If so, which characters stand in for the ones that came before and who really had to die in that final fight? One fan theory suggested that Tonks and Lupin were stand-ins for Lily and James in their fight against Voldemort, except that this time it wasn't Harry who would have to deal with the fallout.

Rowling said that she very much saw Teddy Lupin as the next Harry Potter, even though he doesn't really feature in the epilogue of the book. The difference in the two characters is that Harry loses his parents and is shipped off to a family that doesn't want him, while Teddy is raised with the people that love him the most.

This actually confirms the message that runs through all of the books: love is the strongest magic of all. Yes there needs to be sacrifice to truly appreciate it in some cases (it does seem a bit harsh that for Teddy to know it, his folks bite it) but it is still a powerful force in his life. Harry also changes in his own way, becoming Teddy's godfather and thus stepping into the role that Sirius stood in for him. One last theory, or question really that was answered, is why Harry didn't name one of his children after Remus.

The answer is simple. He was waiting for Teddy to do that himself.
