10 Harry Potter Plot Points Cut From The Movies That Can Be Used In The TV Reboot

3. Peeves The Poltergeist

Peeves is a prominent Harry Potter character who was noticeably missing in the films. Fond of causing chaos and mischief, Peeves would often pull pranks or cause pain to the school and those attending, especially towards the school's caretaker Argus Filch.

Along with most Hogwarts residents, Peeves didn't take too nicely towards Umbridge and her takeover. With the help of the Weasley twins, the poltergeist pranked Umbridge until she was kicked out of the school by the end of the year; one of the rare times Peeves showed loyalty towards students at Hogwarts.

Peeves had lived at Hogwarts since it was first founded, claiming he "came with the building". Since then, Peeves has become a pet peeve, specifically to every caretaker that worked there.

During the Triwizard Tournament, Peeves was accused of stealing the golden egg from Harry the night he figured out the clue for the second task.

Harry Potter filmmakers did find an actor - the late, great Rik Mayall - to play Peeves on screen, but unfortunately director Christopher Columbus was unhappy with the overall look of the character.
