10 Hidden Action Movie Gems To Watch On Netflix

6. Missing In Action

The recent documentary Electric Boogaloo: The Untold Story Of Cannon Films took a fond if inevitably critical look at the output from the most maverick-minded studio of the 1980s, renowned for their scattershot approach to production and affection for excessive violence and pointless nudity. When they weren't running the risk of bankrupcy thanks to woefully misjudged superhero movies like Superman IV: The Quest For Peace, they found more success with low budget action flicks like Missing In Action, arguably the "best" Chuck Norris movie ever made, which is essential viewing for action movie purists, if not necessarily a wider audience. Norris never quite hit the big time like his 80s action movie peers Stallone and Schwarzenegger, but Missing In Action came pretty close to the kind of hide-and-seek action thrills of the Rambo movies. M Emmet Walsh's supporting character is a doozy, taking out the bad guys attired in a garish Hawaiian shirt.
