5. Guardians Of The Galaxy Volume 2 - Star Lord Is Using A Retro Game To Track Aliens
During one of the first scenes in the second cinematic outing for the titular Guardians of the Galaxy, the squad are seen trying to stop a raging abelisk (or huge space octopus to you and me) from feeding on some batteries.
Yet, before the terrifying, tentacle waving monster makes its presence known, Peter Quill is caught tracking the alien on what appears to be a rather retro looking device. Hilariously, after a second glance you'll find that this piece of inter-dimensional alien tracking equipment is anything but that and is in fact just another one of Quill's home comforts.
Quill's tracking device is actually a Mattel Electronics Classic Football game from the 70's and you can literally see the the worn out words 'Mattel Electronics' at the top of the kit. So, Quill is either knowingly choosing to play his little game right before a deadly mission or he's genuinely convinced that this handheld game is aiding them in their quest.
This wasn't the first time Star Lord used a retro piece of Earth technology in the MCU, either, as we also saw him dance around to the sounds played out through a Walkman at the start of the first Guardians film.
