10 Hidden Details In Movie Opening Scenes
6. Zombieland - Co-Writer Does His Best Tony Montana
The first Zombieland kicked things off with a now legendary opening string of events. Jessie Eisenburg's Columbus explains his various rules which need to be followed in order to survive in Zombieland as we witness exactly what happens when you don't.
Then, after Columbus has lead us through the first four rules, the film's opening credits begin to appear over various slow motion shots of zombies chasing down terrified civilians.
We see middle-aged men fleeing strip joints, folks being thrown off buildings and even a zombie bride attacking a groom. However, the undoubted star of the opening shots is definitely the dude dressed as a discount Tony Montana gunning down any undead people munchers who gets in his way.
Yet, what may have gone largely unnoticed was the fact that this white suit wearing, AK-47 wielding zombie killer was actually the film's co-writer Rhett Reese making a cameo appearance.
It may not have been the most noteworthy cameo in the flick (that award definitely went to Bill Murray popping up as himself) but it's still pretty cool to see one of the film's brilliant writers getting a few seconds of slo-mo on-screen action.
