4. Those Were Steven Spielberg's Hands In The Face Peeling Scene - Poltergeist (1982)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AHvWoDB-PYo Poltergeist has always been the subject of much debate, mainly due to the fact that it looks and feels exactly like a Steven Spielberg film, though it's credited to Texas Chainsaw Massacre maestro Tobe Hooper. Many people believe that Spielberg's influence was so strong that he should've been granted the directorial credit, though the man himself has always insisted that Hooper was in charge and that he merely helped out in the ways a producer is supposed to help out. So modest, Steven. One of the flick's most grotesque scenes - and one which was cut from the original movie - concerns a hallucination in which a "ghost investigator" (for lack of a better terms) goes into a bathroom and proceeds to peel his face off. It's extremely bloody and completely at odds with the tone of the rest of the movie, though horror fans will likely love it. And said face peeling is actually being done by Steven Spielberg, who presumably couldn't resist stepping in and taking on the brief and gory act with gusto. The man sure knows how to rip flesh, that's for sure.
