10 Hidden DVD & Blu-Ray Horror Movie Easter Eggs You Need To Find
7. Zombies & Buddhism - Dawn Of The Dead (1978)
In case the epic, four-disc "Ultimate Edition" DVD set of George A. Romero's Dawn of the Dead doesn't provide enough advertised content, there is a wildly unexpected Easter egg hidden within disc four.
On the disc's main menu, simply move one step left and press select, and you'll unlock a short video in which a Buddhist monk espouses his passionate love for Romero's masterpiece of undead cinema.
The unidentified man goes on to profess that the film was of particular interest to him because of Buddhism's own fixation on life and death, even if his master insisted he was "stupid" for enthusing about such a movie.
The man even ends the video by adopting a traditional zombie pose - arms outstretched, mouth open. DVD extras, regardless of genre, don't get more delightfully weird than this.
