10 Highest Ever Grossing Movies Released In May - Ranked From Worst To Best

6. Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge Of The Sith

Domestic Gross: $380,270,577 The general consensus seems to be that, despite the middling nature of The Phantom Menace, and the sheer awfulness of Attack of the Clones, George Lucas somewhat redeemed himself with the likes of Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith, a film that genuinely brought a lot of disheartened fans back on his side. Hey, if he had to make at least one good prequel film, thank God it was the last one, huh? As the culmination of Darth Vader's story, Sith managed to be what Attack of the Clones wasn't: thrilling and emotional in equal measure. There are many who will still claim that the film suffers from an excessive amount of CGI, that Hayden Christensen's performance is more tragic than the story being told, and that the movie fails to tap into what Star Wars fans love about Star Wars. Sith is far from that of a perfect outing, that's true, but Lucas should at least be applauded for restoring the sense of "fun" that made the old movies so great; for the most part, it's a genuine blast to watch. And don't pretend that the final shot, Binary Sunset and all, didn't give you goosebumps.
