8. Up - Horror Movie
Whereas Frozen primarily delighted young girls in the audience with its tale of princesses, Up appealed to a much broader audience, not least thanks to Pixar's brave decision to feature an elderly man as the main character. The Carl Fredricksen we're all familiar with might be a loveable old man, but in the horror version of the trailer he's anything but. "Scream all you want," we hear one of the talking dogs saying over the dark and gloomy images. "Your friends can't hear you!" It goes without saying that the footage of the storm cloud and Charles F. Muntz's raging is used to great effect to build up the tension in this recut trailer. And how else are we supposed to interpret the shots of poor boy Russell tied to a chair?
