10 Hollywood Stars That Let Instant Success Go To Their Heads

10. Macaulay Culkin

Early Success: A bankable star at the tender age of eleven, Culkin was riding a wave on the back of Uncle Buck and Home Alone. He played the part of loveable hell-raiser for the Bart Simpson generation perfectly throughout the early 90s. Only the success of child stars Elizabeth Taylor and Shirley Temple was comparable to Culkin's and the obligatory music video appearances with Michael Jackson and a Home Alone sequel ensued. What Happened Next? In 2013, after a series of commercial flops and controversy surrounding his relationships with Michael Jackson, Culkin returned to the public consciousness (at least kind of) with The Pizza Underground, an unfunny pastiche of famous rock band The Velvet Underground. Here, Culkin assumed the role of band leader, multi-instrumentalist and singer for one of the most unfunny comedy bands ever. Basically insulting a wonderful band for an hour each night, audiences weren't overly ingratiated, booing the band off one night at a gig in Nottingham. Starting up pretentious rock outfits, alongside his well-documented drug addiction, might make you think fame went to his head for a bit. You'd be right.
