10 Home Invasion Movies Where The Invader Is The Victim
4. Villains (2019)
Small-time crook Mickey (Bill Skarsgard) and his girlfriend Jules (Maika Monroe) must literally fight for their lives after breaking into the wrong house. Skarsgard can do sinister as well as anyone, and directors Dan Berk and Robert Olsen use his face and his presence, and his whole vibe, to lure us into a false sense of security before springing much bigger baddies on us in the form of Gloria and George (Kyra Sedgwick and Jeffrey Donovan).
This old-school pair of high-diction deviants have a small girl chained up in their basement (Sweetiepie, played by Blake Baumgartner) and plenty more skeletons in their closet; none of which they're especially keen for their home invaders to go blabbing about. While Gloria and George offer Mickey and Jules the opportunity to take their car and go, the young criminals can't fight their hearts of gold and insist on attempting to free Sweetiepie.
Needless to say, the happy homeowners don't go for this and hunt, maim, drug and torture their newfound victims instead. No matter which way you cut it, this ends in tragedy for everyone involved - but it's one wacky hell of a ride.
