10 Home Invasion Movies Where The Invader Is The Victim
5. You're Next (2011)
Getting on with your family can be murder sometimes. Doubly so if you're the Davisons.
In Adam Wingard's You're Next, the wealthy Davisons try to mend their broken relationships by gathering at their weekend estate to celebrate matriarch and patriarch Aubrey and Paul's (Barbara Crampton and Rob Moran) wedding anniversary. To begin with, the celebrations are built on sniping and point-scoring, but when a group of crossbow-wielding, animal-masked assailants attack, the family finds a new strength in unity - one that is ultimately superseded by outsider Erin's (Shami Vinson) desire to not just defend herself, but give the attackers and the family a taste of their own medicine.
The assassins sent to murder the family - arranged by Felix Davidson and his partner Zee (Nicholas Tucci and Wendy Glenn) so they could inherit the family fortune without having to wait for Aubrey and Paul to die of their own accord - get a lot more than they bargained for as Erin turns them into the victims of the piece.
Setting traps Macaulay Culkin would be proud of, shredding heads in blenders, and getting her own back on her boyfriend Crispian (AJ Bowen), who was in on it all along, Erin comes out on top. Well, almost, if she hadn't accidentally victimised the police in the process.
