7. Guns - John Woo Movies (And Many More)
Watch a shootout in any John Woo movie, and when a character is hit with even one bullet, it is likely that they will be sent catapulting into the air as though a grenade had just been detonated in their face. In actual fact, however, the amount of force acting upon a human body when shot is not all that much, given the relatively small size of the bullet compared to the object (i.e. the human); a typical 9mm bullet should realistically cause a male of average height and weight to stumble back a few inches at best, rather than be sent careening into whatever breakable object conveniently rests behind them. Still, I'm not arguing with Woo that his scenes of wanton destruction don't look more awesome with bodies flying in all directions, but it completely dispenses with even the vaguest smidgen of realism.
