It’s a relentless force of fearsome magnitude.
H.R. Geiger’s iconic design added the perfect monster to a near perfect movie.
Unlike many other entries here, it was not easy for the monster to stand out amongst the cast and characters in Alien. The movie is filled with brilliant performances from brilliant actors, all playing characters who are at least highly memorable and at best are cultural icons themselves.
Yet, amongst Ripley, Ash, Kane, Dallas and crew, the Alien holds
its own to become an audience favourite and goes on to a larger and larger role
in the sequels.
