10 Horror Movie Deaths That Could've Been WAY Better

3. The Firecracker Krite - Critters

It Chapter Two Pennywise Death
New Line Cinema

Critters is a charming enough creature feature, but there's one death scene which was so, so close to being awesome, but ultimately just fell short of the mark.

Mid-way through the movie, young Brad (Scott Grimes) gets the rather brilliant idea to hurl an M-80 firecracker at one of the murderous Krites, who promptly picks it up and sticks it in its mouth.

We as the audience soon enough expect the Krite to explode from the inside out, because why the hell wouldn't it? But instead, the firecracker merely explodes inside the Krite's stomach, causing them to keel over dead as smoke belches from their mouth.

If this wasn't a ripe opportunity to show a Krite combusting into meaty chunks, what was?

Even accepting the $3 million film's evident budgetary limitations, this would've been worth spending some extra dollar on. Instead, the death scene feels weirdly incomplete.
