10 Horror Movie Mistakes You Never Noticed Before
8. Dammit, Janet - The Rocky Horror Picture Show (1975)
Based on the 1973 stage musical The Rocky Horror Show, Jim Sharman's Rocky Horror Picture Show captured everything that made the original production so exciting and transgressive, and introduced it to a wide enough audience to secure its permanent status as a classic. The film follows Brad and Janet (Barry Borthwick and Susan Sarandon) to the mansion of transvestite Dr Frank N Furter (Tim Curry), where they are swept up in genetic experiments, sex, murder, and musical numbers galore.
The film is rife with goofs, blunders, continuity errors, prop mistakes, and crew members in shot - which fans consider part of its eternal charm - but that doesn't mean there aren't a few hidden gems lurking below the surface. And one, in particular, arrives during the scene following the performance of Rose Tinted World, when Frank N Furter is facing his traitorous compatriots Magenta and Riff Raff.
While we are all focused on Frank, the real action is going on at the back of the shot. When Brad and Janet back away towards the edge of the stage, Sarandon accidentally steps on Borthwick's foot - in heels! You can see the actor gasp and grimace, but he soldiers on and plays through the scene without disrupting the shot.
And once you've seen it, you won't be able to help but bask in his pain on every viewing thereafter.
