10 Horror Movie Mistakes You Never Noticed Before

4. Listen to Her Heart - Twilight (2008)

Released nearly 17 years ago, Catherine Hardwicke's Twilight lit the touchpaper on the whole teen vampire feeding frenzy that had fans going mad for soft-serve vamp content for several years before they moved on, leaving a severely debilitated genre in their wake. The first film introduces us to Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart), a bland every-girl who attracts the attention of sparkly vege-vampire Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson) and his clan. They flirt, they fight, they play baseball - you know the story.

Following the movie's climactic scene, in which the Cullens beef with some genuine bloodsuckers, Bella is knocked out and wakes up in hospital. While Edward may not have a heartbeat, Bella sure does, and her EKG machine (which records electrical signals in the heart) is visible by the bed, showing a steady pulse with an accompanying beep. So far, so fair enough.

However, viewers with a good ear will notice the rate of beeping doesn't change while her mum tells her the cover story the Cullens concocted for why she is so banged up, despite remembering and reliving what really happened. Sure, she may have nerves of steel, but this is not where it ends. After her mum heads off, Edward tells Bella she needs to leave Forks so she's not in danger anymore. Bella gets visibly flustered and upset, yet that EKG just keeps chirping away at the same steady rate...
