10 Horror Movie Parodies You've Never Seen
8. Fido
Fido takes place in an alternative reality where the government has regulated zombies, forcing them to perform menial jobs in society. The story focuses on a boy called Timmy whose life changes after his mother purchases a zombie called Fido. Even though zombies are viewed as pets, Timmy sees him as a friend and tries to bond with him, despite the obvious danger the reanimated creature poses.
Despite the fact Fido could have been a silly comedy, it successfully juggles complex themes about conformity, consumerism, and maintaining the status quo. As an added bonus, it's also very funny - the "Timmy's trapped down the well" bit is ridiculous as it is hilarious.
But there is one reason above all else why moviegoers should check out Fido - the titular zombie is played by none other than comedy legend, Billy Connolly. The beloved Scotsman agreed to the film, believing it would prove an interesting challenge to portray a character with no dialogue. Horror comedy isn't for everyone but anybody who's curious to see Billy Connolly portraying an undead monster should give Fido a watch.
