10 Horror Movie Plots You Won’t Believe Actually Exist

5. Evil, Killer Ice Yogurt - The Stuff

The Stuff Movie
Anchor Bay Entertainment

You've seen movies about killer tires, trees, and robot gorillas, but how about one about killer yogurt?

In 1985's The Stuff, two railroad workers discover a strange substance in the ground, and so naturally they try to taste it. They quickly discover that it's actually delicious, and so it's packaged and marketed as The Stuff, some sort of sweet, creamy yogurt.

As it turns out, though, The Stuff is a living organism that takes over the brain of anyone who eats it, turning them into a mindless zombie. The main characters try to take down the ice cream industry that's producing The Stuff and put a stop to the madness.

It's a pretty crazy but hilarious movie with a truly unique premise. With this one, everyone involved is clearly in on the joke, and the movie is tongue-in-cheek throughout. Kind of like Dawn Of The Dead, it all ends up being a metaphor about consumerism, especially relevant at the height of the 1980s.

It's funny, has something to say, and also has amazing special effects in scenes like one where a guy's face explodes and the stuff bursts out of him. It's downright nasty and a really great time.
