10 Horror Movie Sequels That Should Have Ended Their Series
9. The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2
Certainly one of the strangest sequels to a classic horror film, Tobe Hooper's The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 took all the visceral and chaotic energy of the first film and plunged it headfirst into the realms of absurd black comedy - something that didn't sit well with fans at the time, but has since given it massive appeal in cult circles.
If you can get aboard its wholly unique wavelength, you'll find yourself relishing in its overtly comical nature, whilst simultaneously balking at its sheer depravity. Had the series ended here, we'd be left with a duo of films that exist at opposite ends of the spectrum, yet make for a rather compelling double-act.
Money talks however and since the release of the second movie, we have seen a further five sequels and a surprisingly ok remake, but none of them have been able to capture the odious magic that makes the first two films so appealing.
It also doesn't help that the series often takes great liberties with its own narrative, making it a rather confusing yarn to follow, should you actually have the patience to watch through them all - which we certainly wouldn't recommend.
