3. Edward Lionheart - Theatre Of Blood

In Theatre of Blood, deranged thespian Edward Lionheart has grown weary of his critics mocking his acting abilities (or lack there of), and so vows to kill them. Since Lionheart is infamous for his over-the-top performances, it's fitting how he murders each reviewer in the same way as a Shakespearean death.

Edward has George stabbed repeatedly by a mob, replicating how Caesar met his maker in Julius Caesar. Like the Duke of Clarence in Richard III, Oliver is drowned in a barrel of wine. Meredith chokes to death on pies made from her poodles, akin to Queen Tamora's fate in Titus Andronicus.

Make no mistake, Lionheart is a bad egg, through and through. Even though the critics were snotty and pompous, they didn't deserve to be killed, since they were simply doing their job.

And yet, you have to tip your hat to Lionheart, since he went above and beyond to make his tormentors' deaths inventive, horrifying, funny, and poetically justified. If Edward Lionheart put as much effort into his acting career, the failed performer probably wouldn't have had to resort to murder in the first place.
