10 Horror Movie Villains Who KILLED Other Villains
7. A Guard Killed Barkovitch - The Long Walk
While some on this list are outright villains, others, though certainly antagonists, work more as a representation of a greater evil. 2025 was a fantastic year for horror, with The Long Walk among its best.
The story is incredibly character-driven, where the antagonistic factor comes into play with the ever-present government that controls the game. If they walk the furthest out of 50 boys, they win riches and one wish, but if they fall short of the pace, they are brutally shot in the head.
The face of said government was Mark Hamill's Major, and the weapons of the Major were the guards, who ended up killing 49 contestants over the course of the film.
Of course, not all of the 50 participants were going to be good people, and though he tried to repent and immediately regretted his actions, Barkovitch (Charlie Plummer) was most certainly a villain. He was a bully, he tried to provoke physical fights, and he pushed one boy so hard that he was killed. He was the main cause of conflict throughout the film outside of the guards with guns, and was ultimately shot by said guards along the way.
