10 Horror Movie Villains Who Were... Kind Of Right

1. The Cabin In The Woods (2011) - The Director

Make no mistake, The Cabin in the Woods isn’t the standard horror outing that it presents itself as. This horror-comedy is a masterclass in toeing the line between homage and parody.

It should come as no surprise then that its “villain” has an ironclad excuse for their fiendish behaviour. A group of five friends from college decide to go on a camping trip for vacation. What awaits them, however, is a horrifying bloodbath orchestrated by a government organisation.

The group are picked off by hillbilly zombies until two members remain. These survivors stumble upon a secret facility. Once there, the government organisation’s ‘Director’ explains that there are ancient demonic gods who must be sated each year with a ritual sacrifice, otherwise, the apocalypse will begin.

Not a single person could argue that this is not the most compelling excuse you’ve ever heard for murdering a few college kids, and if you try, you’re a moron. The remaining youths are two such morons who decide that their survival is worth the torment and eventual death of EVERYBODY ON EARTH. You decide who the real villains of this movie are.
