10 Horror Movie Villains With The Worst Motives
3. Leprechaun - Leprechaun 2
Whether it be through seeing Jennifer Aniston's taking her first big step in the world of acting, Warwick Davies' stellar performance or the fact it makes for the perfect St Patricks binge series, Leprechaun has a reputation for being one of those 'so bad it's good' horror films. Its subsequent sequels, however, do not have such charm.
Leprechaun 2 opens with everyone's favourite green little gremlin explaining to his slave, William O'Day, that he is going to set him free because he has found himself a perfect bride. O'Day's joy turns to horror when it is revealed Leprechaun intends to marry his daughter when she sneezes three times without someone saying 'God Bless You'.
When O'Day prevents him from marrying his daughter, Leprechaun scorns the man, killing him and proclaiming that he will marry one of his descendants on his next 1000th birthday.
Not only does this motive have nothing to do with the original film or anything to do with actual Leprechaun legends, but it's also just straight-up sleazy. There's nothing fun or comedic about seeing a Leprechaun running after a young woman.
