10 Horror Movies That Go Totally Insane At The End
4. Men (2022)
Wracked with guilt after her husband’s death, Men follows Harper (Jessie Buckley) as she travels to a lavish house in the middle of the picturesque English countryside in a bid to escape her grief. Not long after arriving, though, she’s followed by a strange naked man who resides in the nearby forest.
Although the police remove the intruder, Harper's stay only gets weirder after becoming acquainted with the peculiar locals. These include a lustful priest, a posh landlord, and a troublesome child (all played by Rory Kinnear).
However, Harper’s idyllic weekend getaway enters a whole other level of bizarre one night when she’s attacked by the peculiar group of villagers. The first indicator that something isn’t right, aside from the characters materialising out of nowhere, is that they all share the same gnarly knife wound which she inflicted on the naked man earlier.
If that wasn’t strange enough, viewers then watch in disbelief as each of the men proceed to give birth to themselves in an uncomfortably graphic sequence which ends with Harper's dead husband emerging.
Equal parts shocking, surreal, and utterly bonkers, an ending this maddeningly insane should have been expected from Alex Garland, the same filmmaker behind Ex Machina and Annihilation.
