10 Horror Movies That Punish You For Getting Wasted

1. Tara - Shrooms

By the time 2007's Shrooms concludes, Lindsey Haun's Tara has unknowingly murdered all of her friends.

Something of a hidden gem from director Paddy Breathnach, Shrooms finds Lindsey and her pals taking a trip to rural Ireland. With Jake (Jack Huston) serving as their guide, the group's night of camping in the woods goes totally belly up after they decide to sample some of the local delicacies.

In the case of Shrooms, this delicacy is Galerina, aka the death bell mushroom.

Depicted in this film as an extremely strong hallucinogenic, these mushrooms alter our protagonists' minds at the same time that a serial killer stalks the woods as urban legends and old wives tales of yesteryear rear their head.

With twisted monks, oddball locals, ghost stories and more, each of our main characters are executed across Shrooms' 86-minute run time. Well, each main character except for Tara.

Having had premonitions about all of these deaths, the final moments of the movie reveal that Tara has actually been the one committing all of these murders. Not just that, but Tara also kills some paramedics who have arrived on the scene at Shrooms' close.

The reason for this impromptu murder spree? That was solely down to a bad trip from gobbling up the Galerina mushrooms.
