10 Horror Movies That Went Too Far
4. Megan Is Missing
Megan Is Missing frames its central young girls in a found-footage, realistic manner. And since the film isn't necessarily any good, it only makes the themes that it toys with all the more repugnant.
Megan Is Missing tells the story of a the titular girl that meets up with a predator from an online chatroom and subsequently disappears, with little evidence leading the police to dropping her case. Her friend then picks it up in their place, resulting in her meeting up with the guy that eventually is proven to have taken her - resulting in one of the most queasy sequences to be envisioned and put to screen.
Protagonist Amy is revealed to have been kept and tortured, before being offered the chance to escape if she gets into a barrel. In the barrel, as it turns out, is Megan's rotting corpse, of which Amy is then forced in with before the evil b*stard takes her to the forest and buries her alive and leaves her to die in the claustrophobic hell.
If any film is going to leave you with that unshakeably disgusted feeling, it's this one.
