10 Horror Movies Where The Final Girl Should Have Died

8. Pam Roberts - Friday The 13th Part V: A New Beginning

Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning is often considered the franchise's lowest point, primarily because the overarching villain, Jason Voorhees, didn't bother to show up! Instead, our ensemble battles a copycat killer called Roy Burns.

But another reason why A New Beginning is the weakest of the bunch, is because it lacks compelling characters, especially the final girl, Pam Roberts. Pam may not be annoying or idiotic, but there's nothing special about her to justify how she survived Roy's killing spree. She whacks him a few times during the climax, but doesn't do any major damage. She tries to attack Roy with a chainsaw, but to no avail.

Also, Roy is ultimately defeated by Tommy and Reggie, not Pam. (This is pretty embarrassing, considering Reggie is only ten years old.) Because Pam is the only person left alive who played no part in Roy's demise, there was no reason to keep her around.

Even the writers agreed, since Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives was meant to open with the reveal that Pam had died, before she was written out of the script.
