10 Horror Movies Which Refused To Give Fans What They Came For

4. Tony Todd As The Main Candyman - Candyman (2021)

Back when Tony Todd was originally announced to be appearing in last year's sequel to the original 1992 Candyman, the understandable expectation was that he would be reprising his role as the main Candyman, Daniel Robitaille.

After all, why mess with such a fundamentally brilliant performance, especially as Todd is still in great shape?

But disappointingly, fans who showed up to see Todd slashing his way through a new slate of victims were left crestfallen when his role in the film amounted to a seconds-long cameo - assisted by digital de-aging, no less - in the movie's final scene.

While the new movie was onto something interesting with the idea of Candyman being a persona inhabited by various murdered Black men, hyping up Todd's presence only to have him return for a tiny CGI-slathered cameo was quite the dirty trick.
