Nothing can beat the original Gremlins for the perfect alternative Christmas film. Both the first and second instalments have stood the test of time as goofy creature features, and the third has been in talks for many years now. Featuring a sickeningly cute fantasy creature that turns into an evil monster if fed after midnight, the destructive little fellas have made their mark on pop culture ever since.
In 2019 however, the end is in sight for those pesky mogwais - as the 35th anniversary of the original film looms ever closer, which many predict will be when the trilogy is completed: and the script is now complete and ready for filming.
Cited as being ‘dark and twisted as anything’ by screenwriter Chris Columbus, Gremlins 3 should pick right up where the 80s and 90s movies left off. Here's hoping they don't ruin anything with painful CGI.
