10 Incredible Follow-Ups To Iconic Movies (That Nobody Saw)
3. The Game
One of the most acclaimed directors of the nineties, David Fincher was responsible for a slew of top quality thrillers that captivated audiences. Fight Club and Seven in particular rank amongst the decade's most iconic films, hell even Alien 3 isn't that bad if you watched Fincher's supposed version over the tawdry theatrical cut.
The one Fincher flick that doesn't get nearly enough love though is The Game.
Telling the story of investment banker Nicholas Van Orten, who on his birthday is gifted a voucher by his brother Conrad. Said voucher enters Nicholas into The Game, which Conrad assures him will change his life. And Conrad wasn't wrong, almost immediately strange events begin occurring in Nicholas' life that begins to blur the lines between what's real and what is part of the game.
It's a thoroughly gripping affair that keeps you guessing all the way through. However, despite positive reviews from critics, the film barely broken even on release and didn't fan the flames that Seven had sparked. Much like many other films on this list, The Game's reputation has only gotten better over time, winning over new legions of fans in the process.
