10 Incredible Movies With ONE Unnecessary Scene

8. Casting Couch - Toy Story 2

Crazy Stupid Love
Pixar

Like A Bug's Life and Monsters, Inc., Toy Story 2 concludes with fake outtakes depicting the characters messing up their dialogue, playing practical jokes on another, or deliberately screwing up the scene. Even though these sequences are superfluous, the animators threw them together just to have a laugh. But there is one scene that is anything but funny.

In one of these faux bloopers, Woody turns around Stinky Pete's box, revealing the prospector having a private discussion with two Barbie dolls. While stroking one of the Barbies' hands, he promises to get the pair roles in the sequel. Realising the camera is on him, the leering prospector nervously says, "Oh, are we back on?" before ushering the girls out.

Although this sequence was considered a cheeky gag in 2010, it came across as a tasteless joke in 2017 after it became public knowledge that film producer, Harvey Weinstein, regularly took part in casting couches like this.

With the rise of the MeToo movement in the following years, it wasn't much of a surprise when Disney omitted the scene entirely when Toy Story 2 was re-released in 2019.
