You know when you're watching a movie and there's a shot of the lead character's legs as they walk down the street, or a shot of their outstretched arm as they reach for a cup of coffee? A lot of the time, those shots don't feature the lead actor.

Imagine phoning Robert De Niro or Michael Caine and asking them to come down to the set just to grab a quick shot of their hands or their legs. It's impractical.

Zack Snyder apparently had this same feeling when shooting Batman V Superman, and in a scene showing Bruce entering an underground fight club in order to clone a mobile phone, the director lent his hands to a shot that is supposed to feature Ben Affleck.

Cinematographer Larry Fong confirmed the small cameo on Twitter earlier this year...

...and also explained the reasoning behind it.

So who knows! Somewhere in your favourite film, the director could have sneakily inserted one of their limbs into the shot.

This won't really improve or diminish your enjoyment of Batman v Superman, but it's a cool bit of trivia to bring up in conversations with fellow film fans.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
